Making It Real

What does the word church evoke for you? Do you need to look at the ecclesia in a new way? Maybe you need to wrestle with this to see the church with new eyes, to see that it’s a body to which you belong and are designed to contribute to, showing the world through love that Christ is the way, truth, and life.

Ask yourself, Do I need to go cow tipping with some idols in my life? Do I have any misplaced worship? Maybe it’s the idol of self, culture, or comparison. Maybe you’ve begun to worship your marriage, time, things, job, children, and so on, and those things have taken the place of the one and only God (who gave you all of those things) without you even noticing. How can you put Jesus back into the center of your life?

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any areas of your life in which you have been following the ways and culture of the world instead of kingdom culture. What changes can you make today to see change? Does others’ figurative idol worship or misplaced worship burden you, or does it cause you to stand in the place of judgment?
